About the Role: NNPC Senior Tax Analyst
The Senior Tax Analyst position is crucial in ensuring NNPC’s operations are cost-effective and compliant with tax regulations. The role involves analyzing new projects for tax viability, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and supporting the development of tax strategies.

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Tax Analyst at NNPC, your responsibilities will include:
- Project Analysis: Evaluate new projects from a tax perspective to determine their viability.
- Tax Savings Strategies: Identify and secure approvals for tax-saving strategies for both new and existing business activities and contracts.
- Guidelines and Action Plans: Provide inputs for tax guidelines and action plans to be shared with various business units across NNPC Limited.
- Tax Planning and Advisory: Contribute to the company’s tax planning and advisory strategies, identifying risks and mitigating tax exposures.
- Reporting: Prepare Tax Advisory reports for the Head of Tax Planning & Advisory.
- Additional Tasks: Carry out other assigned tasks related to tax planning and reduction of tax liabilities.
Qualifications: What You Need to Apply
To be eligible for the Senior Tax Analyst position, you must have:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree with First Class or Second Class Upper Division, HND with Distinction, or a Bachelor’s Degree with Second Class Lower Division plus a completed Master’s Degree.
- Relevant Disciplines: The position is open to those with backgrounds in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Well Engineering, General Engineering, Operations Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Accounts, Audit, Taxation & Insurance, Information Technology, Legal, and Security.
- Professional Certifications: Membership in professional bodies such as ACA, ACCA, ANAN, CFA, CIS, CITN, NIM is an added advantage.
- Experience: At least 9 years of relevant post-qualification experience, with experience in the oil and gas industry being highly desirable.
